Understanding the Ins and Outs of PRP Treatment

PRP treatment is an effective method for healing many of the body’s ills by promoting growth and recuperation. PRP treatment is not a new technique. Since our clinic began offering PRP services, many of our patients have enjoyed an increased quality of life as a result of undergoing various PRP treatments.

PRP refers to Platelet-Rich Plasma. It’s a liquid developed from a patient’s blood. Blood is comprised of platelets, red blood cells, and white blood cells. Platelets are beneficial to a person’s overall health and can assist in clotting blood, among other things. Platelets contain growth factors which are actually proteins and are critical for the body’s ability to heal from injuries and tissue affected by age and overuse. PRP is plasma that has a higher percentage of platelets than are typically present in blood. In fact, it has up to ten times the concentration of growth factors as compared to the same volume of non-PRP blood.

The first step in creating PRP blood plasma is to draw blood from the patient. Our doctor then uses specialized centrifugal equipment to separate the platelets from the blood cells. The resulting platelet-rich liquid will then be added to what remains of the blood sample. This is how PRP blood plasma is created.

PRP treatment uses a patient’s own blood to create a platelet concentration that is then used to accelerate the healing process. The O-Shot (and the P-Shot treatment for men) targets the sexual pleasure centers and helps to rejuvenate tissue, as well as promote pleasure itself. The process does not take long, nor is it terribly uncomfortable.
