Does Hair Restoration Work?

Hair Restoration Solutions

The idea of balding is not a happy one for many people. The appearance of thinning hair or balding spots on the scalp can cause many people to seek our hair restoration solutions. The science and medical techniques behind hair transplants have greatly evolved over the years to the point that they provide results that are natural in appearance and also last a lifetime. Take a look below to learn why hair restoration works and how it is performed on male and female patients of all ages.

Hair restoration can also be referred to as a hair transplant since the goal of the procedure is to restore hair growth on the balding or thinning areas of the scalp. As our friends at Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration explain, there are multiple hair restoration treatments available to patients, with the most popular procedure being a surgical treatment known as Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).

During an FUE hair transplant surgery, the doctor will individually remove the hair grafts from the donor area on the body. In most cases, the donor area for hair is the back and sides of the scalp of the patient. The hair on this area of the body has proven to be resistant to the balding process so that is why it is such a popular choice for hair transplant surgeons. If there is not enough high-quality donor hair located on the back or sides of the scalp, the surgeon can always use hair grafts from other areas of the body such as the beard or the chest of the patient.

Because the hair grafts are removed individually from the donor section of the body, there will not be a linear scar in the section where the grafts were removed. The lack of a linear scar means it is not obvious to others that a hair transplant was performed.

The individual hair grafts are then transplanted into incisions that were created in the scalp by the doctor. The hair grafts are transplanted so they match the angle and direction of the natural flow of the native hair.

The transplanted hairs will grow in their new home on the scalp and the average eye will not be able to tell the difference between them and the hair that was already present on the head.

The results of hair restoration surgery are permanent, and they give the appearance of hair that has a much fuller and healthier look. Patients will also enjoy a more youthful and rejuvenated look to the hairline.
